This piece was created for a sculpture class "found object" assignment. I began with a piece of 3/4" plywood and stapled chicken wire and then used paper mache to sculpt her body. Bottle caps were applied with hot glue and then reinforced with superglue. The mermaid's dreadlocks are bottlecaps strung onto copper wire.
After completing the 700- bottlecap studded tail, I ran out of beer caps for the mermaid's dread locks. Thanks to the gracious bartenders at "Dish Pizza"
